Cereus peruvianus 'Florida' is part of the Cactaceae family and is native to Southeastern Brazil and northern Argentina. This cactus is columnar in shape, they usually have 5-8 ribs and are covered in clusters of 8 spines (young specimens may not have spines). Maximum growth in native environment is up to 7m.

Secrets to success
Temperature: Optimum temperatures of 15-23°C. Can tolerate short periods of as low as -6°C.
Light: Bright sunny window.
Watering: Water moderately during growing season. Reduce watering in winter.
Air humidity: Low humidity.
Fertiliser: Feed with cactus food every 2 weeks during the growing season, half the recommended dilution.
Potting mix: Use a well-draining mix with some coarse sand and perlite for drainage.
It’s not known whether this plant is toxic, keep out of reach of pets and children.
