Chlorophytum comosum 'Vittatum' is part of the Asparagaceae family and is native to tropical and southern Africa. Linear leaves have a central creamy white stripe and green margins. The leaves arch backwards to form a fountain-like shape.

Secrets to success


Temperature: Ideal temperatures 12-21°C.


Light: Bright indirect light.


Watering: Allow soil to dry slightly between watering to prevent root rot.


Air humidity: Chlorophytum need higher humidity to prevent leaf browing, you can increase humidity by grouping plants together, using a humidifier or placing your plant on a watered pebble tray.


Fertilising: Feed once a month during growing season, dilute fertiliser to half the recommended dosage.


Potting mix: A well-draining mix with perlite or pumice. 


This plant is non-toxic.
