Hoya carnosa is from the Apocynaceae family and is native to India and South China. Leaves are glossy, fleshy and ovate with a entire leaf margin, they are in pairs in opposite arrangement.
Flowers are star-shaped and white with a faint pink tint which has a red centre.
Pot: 15cm in diameter.
Foliage: Approximately 35cm in length.
Secrets to success
Temperature: Average to warm is fine, 16-24°C.
Light: Hoya carnosa can handle 2 hours of direct sunlight and will be happiest in a bright spot.
Watering: Water moderately during the growing season and reduce watering in winter.
Air Humidity: Average humidity is fine but this plant prefers higher; to increase humidity group plants together, mist them, use a humidifier or place your plant on a watered pebble tray.
Fertilising: Feed Hoya every few weeks during the growing period.
These plants are not known to be toxic but sap is an irritant, keep out of reach just in case.
