Curio herreanus, also known as "String of Beads", is a succulent with trailing stems and round bead-like leaves. This creeping, perennial, succulent vine is native to the drier parts of southwest Africa, making it uniquely drought-proof and suitable for beginner house plant owners. It is well suited to a hanging basket or a high bookshelf, to allow its long foliage to hang down.

Care for Curio herreanus by keeping it in a bright spot, occasionally placing it in direct sun early in the morning. Make sure its winter temperature stays above 10°C and repot it every couple of years. This plant doesn’t need as much water as other houseplants, only water when the soil is dry to the touch. Mist its leaves regularly to increase humidity and do not over-water, as it can store water very well in its leaves.
