Root Houseplants was commissioned to deliver a sophisticated commercial plant installation and biophilic design scheme for the Business Lounge at Horton House, located in the prominent Exchange Flags complex in Liverpool. The project focused on transforming the corporate lounge into a professional yet relaxing environment for tenants and visitors.
The client's brief was to introduce contemporary style foliage that would complement the building’s modern aesthetic while enhancing the atmosphere of the high-traffic communal lounge. This required a strategic office plant scheme that promotes calm and visually defines spaces without cluttering the layout.
Our biophilic design approach prioritised selecting robust, architectural, and low-maintenance species suitable for a professional corporate environment.
Our commercial planting scheme was carefully specified to ensure maximum visual impact and long-term viability within the lounge environment.
Contemporary Selection: We utilized a mix of structural and aesthetically pleasing office plants known for their clean lines and durability, including Asplenium (Bird’s Nest Fern), Maranta (Prayer Plant), Ctenanthe, and Sansevieria (Snake Plant).
Defining Zones: Plants were strategically placed to delineate seating areas, enhance privacy, and provide natural focal points across the large lounge space.
Location Expertise: The design leveraged our experience working within the Exchange Flags complex, ensuring the chosen plants thrive in the specific light conditions of the building.
