Complimentary foliage for a Liverpool gem
Root Houseplants was delighted to provide a bespoke indoor plant installation and biophilic design scheme for Hardware Coffee + Kitchen, a notable venue breathing new life into a historic building on Renshaw Street, Liverpool. The project focused on transforming the cafe into a visually captivating haven that perfectly complements its rustic chic aesthetic.
The core requirement for Hardware was to integrate a mixed range of foliage that would naturally blend into the venue's rustic chic decor. The space is unique, featuring expansive windows and commanding skylights that provide an abundance of natural light—an ideal environment for a thriving biophilic design scheme.
Our design approach prioritized diverse leaf shapes and vibrant colors, transforming the cafe into a botanical beauty spot that encourages long, social visits and repeat business in Liverpool's historic district.
Our commercial planting scheme was carefully curated to leverage the venue's excellent light levels while ensuring the greenery enhanced the customer experience.
Mixed Foliage: We selected a delightful mix of reliable indoor plants known for their tolerance and varied textures, including Philodendron, Hoya, Spathyphyllum (Peace Lily), and Zamioculcas (ZZ Plant).
Statement and Trailing: The installation featured a combination of high-impact statement foliage and elegant hanging plants, which utilized vertical space and maximized the visual impact of the high ceilings.
Aesthetic Integration: Every plant placement and planter choice was designed to perfectly complement the chic, rustic decor of the Liverpool cafe.
