Indoor Plant Installation: Botanical Greenhouse Design at Loretta's Parkside Tavern, Liverpool One

Root Houseplants was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive commercial plant installation and biophilic design scheme for Loretta's Parkside Tavern, located in the vibrant Liverpool One area. The goal was to transform the hospitality venue into a destination that encourages relaxation and enhances the customer experience.

The Design Brief: Creating a Botanical Greenhouse

The client's brief was clear: create a lush, immersive botanical greenhouse feel. This required a high-density, biophilic design approach that would maximise visual impact and differentiate the tavern from competitors in Liverpool.

Our design focused on leveraging vertical space and introducing large, architectural foliage to encapsulate the essence of an indoor jungle.

Plant Specification and Installation Details

Our interior landscaping scheme was meticulously specified to ensure the greenery could thrive in the specific light and temperature conditions of a busy hospitality environment.

We used a considered mix of structural and flowering plants to achieve the desired texture and visual interest:

  • Architectural Height: Bold Strelitzia and Ficus elastica (Rubber Fig) were used as floor-standing statement office plants to create height and natural partitions.

  • Trailing & Texture: Epiphyllum (Orchid Cactus) was utilized in hanging displays to soften edges and enhance the feeling of immersion, bringing the 'jungle' effect overhead.

  • Colour & Contrast: Anthurium was strategically placed to introduce flashes of color and tropical texture.

Our expert installation team ensured the entire display was set up efficiently, minimizing disruption to the busy Liverpool One venue.

The Result: High-Impact, Worry-Free Greenery

The successful commercial plant installation transformed the tavern into a unique, inviting space that instantly captivated visitors, delivering the client's botanical greenhouse vision.

As with all our projects, this installation is protected by our guaranteed service:

Ongoing Plant Maintenance: We provide a comprehensive commercial plant maintenance package, trusted by over 50 venues in the North West. This includes our unique guarantee of free plant replacements year-round, ensuring Loretta’s always looks its 5-star best.

We recently hosted a plant potting workshop with Root Houseplants as part of a resident event, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The plants were freshly delivered, in excellent condition, and beautifully presented — our residents absolutely loved it! Chris was incredibly responsive and easy to work with throughout the whole process. Highly recommend Root Houseplants for anyone looking for quality plants.

I have always experienced the greatest quality plants at fantastic prices, many of which are hard to find rare plants! The service really is the best, from receiving plant care emails on the specific plants that I have purchased to my absolute delight on opening the securely packaged treasures a few days later, to the exceptional customer service I have received especially from Chris who I was in contact with recently. I am so happy to recommend Root Houseplants to anyone who wants the strongest and healthiest plants together with details on how to care for them.

I have shopped in person before and love the atmosphere of the shop. Recently I ordered online and had a small issue with the order. I must say customer service (spoke to Chris) has been excellent. Quick, friendly responses and I received an amended order in under a week on a day that worked around me. Would definitely recommend and shop here again as I can see how high the standards are and how much Root values customer service and satisfaction. Thank you very much! I’m very happy with my plants 🌿
