Inviting rustic realness at Rudy’s
Root Houseplants has been the trusted commercial plant installation partner for Rudy's Pizza, successfully designing and maintaining stunning greenery across multiple hospitality venues in both Liverpool and Manchester. Our work ensures these award-winning pizzerias maintain a consistent, vibrant, and inviting atmosphere for every customer.
The client's goal was to translate their authentic Neapolitan style into the interior design, requiring an atmosphere of "inviting, rustic realness." This involved a high-impact biophilic design approach that softens the industrial edges of the buildings and creates an immersive "indoor jungle" feel ideal for long, social dining.
We faced the challenge of delivering aesthetic consistency across multiple unique locations—from their first branch outside Manchester (Castle Street, Liverpool) to their expanding portfolio across the North West.
Our commercial planting scheme focused heavily on utilizing vertical space with mixed trailing foliage, a design element that maximizes visual impact in high-traffic hospitality settings while minimizing footprint.
Trailing Foliage: We used a rich variety of durable, dense plants such as Tradescantia, Philodendron, Epipremnum, Rhipsalis, and Lepismium. This mixed trailing foliage was displayed at different lengths in bespoke hanging baskets above bar areas and seating.
Architectural Plants: Select free-standing indoor plants were used to define zones and reinforce the rustic biophilic design theme throughout the seating areas of their Manchester and Liverpool restaurants.
This installation, first commissioned back in 2018, holds a special place in our history and showcases our expertise in long-term hospitality contracts.
