Root Houseplants was commissioned to deliver a specialised office plant installation and biophilic design scheme for Wushu Studios, a leading creative company located in the prestigious Exchange Flags complex in Liverpool. The project focused on transforming the workspace into an environment that stimulates creativity and enhances staff focus—essential for the competitive tech and gaming industry.
The client's goal was to introduce a tangible sense of freshness and vitality that would counteract screen fatigue and enhance the mental health of its development team. This required a strategic office plant design that prioritized high-impact, easy-care greenery suitable for a modern corporate environment.
Our biophilic design approach introduced calming, natural elements throughout the workspace, optimising visual comfort.
Our commercial planting scheme was carefully selected to be robust, tolerant of office environments (such as fluctuating temperatures and indirect light), and aesthetically stimulating.
Focus on Well-being: We utilized highly effective air-purifying and stress-reducing office plants known to thrive in internal spaces.
Variety and Texture: The installation included a mix of Syngonium, Maranta, Zamioculcas, and Philodendron to provide diverse leaf shapes and textures, breaking up visual monotony across desks and common areas.
Strategic Placement: Plants were deliberately positioned near workstations and communal areas to maximize staff exposure to nature and introduce natural focal points.
The installation successfully achieved the client's brief, creating a stimulating and vibrant atmosphere that directly supports the studio's creative workflow.
