Asplenium 'Parvati' is a beautiful and unique fern cultivar known for its distinctive, ruffled fronds. This fern features elongated, lance-shaped fronds with wavy or crested edges, giving them a ruffled or feathered appearance. The fronds are typically a vibrant green and have a delicate, almost lacy texture. It is a relatively compact fern, making it well-suited for growing in pots or terrariums. It belongs to the Aspleniaceae family.

The genus name Asplenium is derived from the Greek word asplenon, meaning "without a spleen," referring to the ancient belief that ferns could cure spleen disorders. 'Parvati' is a cultivar name, possibly referencing the Hindu goddess Parvati, known for her beauty and grace.

Light: Asplenium 'Parvati' prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate fronds. A spot near a window with filtered light, or a room with ample ambient light, is ideal.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly when you do water, ensuring any excess drains away. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while allowing the plant to dry out too much can cause the fronds to brown and crisp.

Potting mix: A well-draining, humus-rich potting mix is essential. A blend of peat moss, perlite, and compost is a good choice.

Fertilising: Feed your Asplenium 'Parvati' with a diluted liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilising during the autumn and winter months.

Temperature: Asplenium 'Parvati' prefers moderate temperatures, ideally between 18-24°C (65-75°F). It is not frost-tolerant and should be protected from cold temperatures. Avoid placing it near draughts or heating/cooling vents.

Humidity: This fern appreciates higher humidity. Using a humidifier can be very helpful. Low humidity can lead to crispy fronds.

Growth Habit: Asplenium 'Parvati' is a relatively slow-growing fern that forms a compact clump.

Toxicity: Asplenium 'Parvati' is not known to be toxic to humans or pets

Returns

We guarantee our plants 14 day from receipt. We guarantee to send happy and healthy plants, however, it is your responsibility to care for them and we cannot be held responsible for neglect or mis care. Please send us a picture within 24 hours of receiving your plant and we'll help you out with your issue.

If returning your order, please keep all original packaging and use this to send the plant back to us. This will ensure the plant is kept as safe as possible on its return.

To allow the plant to acclimatise in its new home, there should be no repotting of the plant for a minimum of 14 days after receipt. If any plant has been repotted or a cutting has been taken then we are not able to accept returns.

We are happy to replace your plant if it is very badly damaged in transport. The loss of a leaf in transport on a healthy plant should not generally be cause for any concern. We cannot give a refund for snapped leaves.

How long does shipping take?

Typically, you can expect your plants to arrive within 3-5 business days of placing your order. We pack UK orders on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Orders packed on Tuesday's normally arrive on Thursday and orders packed on Thursday's normally arrive over the weekend (sometimes Monday at the latest!). Ask our virtual assistant the shipping times to your location for a more detailed answer.

Why is there a minimum order on the webshop?

To make our new direct shipping model from the Netherlands as efficient and eco-friendly as possible, we've implemented a £24.99 minimum order. This allows us to optimise shipping and reduce unnecessary packaging, contributing to a greener plant-buying experience.

How are my plants packaged for shipping?

We take great care in packaging your plants to ensure they arrive in excellent condition. We use sturdy boxes, protective wrapping, and specialised plant packaging materials to minimise damage during transit.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

Can I track my order?
