Useful Information

Plant Bio

Spathiphyllum wallisii are native to Venezuela and Columbia and are part of the Araceae family. 'Diamond Variegata' has a very dense full appearance, leaves are variegated with splashes and are held horizontal to the petiole. It’s worth noting that it’s not uncommon for your plant to not produce as many blooms as when you first bought it - often nurseries use gibberellic acid to increase the number of flowers, this is a natural plant hormone that induces flowering.

The genus Spathiphyllum means leafy-spathe.  The specific epithet wallisii is named after Guztav Wallis, a collector in the Andes for the William Bull nursery in Chelsea.

Pot size: ø 12cm.

Height: Approximately 40cm from base of pot.

This plant fits in the planters Lisbon ø 13.5cm and Series ø 12cm and 14cm (not included).

Light: Bright indirect light, meaning the plant sees the sun for 0-4 hours per day - this could be through trees or a translucent curtain, it’s important for the plant to see the sky in order to thrive.

Water: Allow the first 2-3 inches of mix to dry out. Before watering, ensure the substrate isn’t compacted, if it is, aerate it with a few pokes of a skewer or blunt stick, pour water slowly over the top and allow the water to pass through the drainage holes. Spathiphyllum will faint/droop when extremely dry.

Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, perlite or vermiculite, orchid bark and worm castings.

Fertilising: Feed your plant every other watering during the growing season or when you observe active growth. You can dilute fertiliser to half the recommended amount but never add more.

Temperature: Ideally 18-28°C.

Humidity: Spathiphyllum would prefer higher humidity. You can increase humidity by placing the plant on a watered pebble tray or using a humidifier.

Spathiphyllum are toxic; keep out of reach of pets and children.

The picture shown is an example of what's in stock unless stated otherwise.

Our plants are sent with a detailed care guide to help you look after them. You must provide the adequate conditions to keep them alive.

Shipping & Delivery

We can only ship within the UK. Orders from abroad cannot be fulfilled and will be cancelled & refunded.

We pack and ship all orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to prevent plants waiting in transit over the weekend.

We do send all our plants via next day delivery, however couriers can sometimes take longer.

Returns

We guarantee our plants 14 day from receipt.  We guarantee to send happy and healthy plants, however, it is your responsibility to care for them and we cannot be held responsible for neglect or mis care. Please send us a picture within 24 hours of receiving your plant and we'll help you out with your issue.

If returning your order, please keep all original packaging and use this to send the plant back to us. This will ensure the plant is kept as safe as possible on its return.

To allow the plant to acclimatise in its new home, there should be no repotting of the plant for a minimum of 14 days after receipt. If any plant has been repotted or a cutting has been taken then we are not able to accept returns.

We are happy to replace your plant if it is very badly damaged in transport. The loss of a leaf in transport on a healthy plant should not generally be cause for any concern. We cannot give a refund for snapped leaves.
