Shop Online Terms & Conditions:
— Shipping & Delivery
We can only ship within the UK. Orders from abroad cannot be fulfilled and will be cancelled & refunded.
We pack and ship all orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We offer next day delivery on orders made before 11am Monday - Thursday.
We don't ship near the weekend as we don't want the plants sitting in transit for an unnecessary amount of time.
We allow returns and exchanges up to 14 days after your purchase date. Contact us to start a return or exchange. Please provide us with photographic evidence within 48 hours of receiving your plant to process a return.
We guarantee our plants 14 day from receipt. We guarantee to send happy and healthy plants, however, it is your responsibility to care for them and we cannot be responsible for neglect or poor care.
Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions:
— Voucher Redemption
Both paper and digital vouchers can be used online or in-store.
Digital Gift Vouchers;
To redeem your digital voucher, simply enter the Promo Code we sent you in your email here on the website, or show us the email when making a purchase in-store.
Paper Gift Vouchers;
To redeem your paper voucher online, simply enter the Promo Code (including the hand written character) printed on the front. To use these in-store, just show us the voucher when making your purchase.
Gift Voucher info;
It is your responsibility to keep your Gift Voucher (from here on referred to as ‘voucher’) safe and secure — don’t share it or post it on the internet!
Each voucher is valid for 12 months after purchase, see Expires date. Voucher(s) may only be used once (either in-store or online), attempts to double spend will be rejected. We reserve the right to cancel orders if this occurs or if we suspect a voucher is being used fraudulently.
Voucher cannot be; replaced if lost/stolen/destroyed, resold, redeemed for cash or exchanged in any form. It has no cash value and no change can be given for purchases less than the value of the voucher.
Management reserve the right to change these terms & conditions at anytime and without giving prior notice.
— Cancellation & Refund Procedure
The purchaser of the voucher is entitled to a 14-day ‘cooling off’ period and may get a full refund provided that the voucher is returned unused and with the original receipt within 14 days of purchase. If you need to return a voucher please
Plant Mail Club:
— Subscription Contents
By subscribing the Plant Mail Club you will get one plant and one plant pot, delivered once a month.
— How to cancel
Please email us at to cancel your subscription. You will also need to cancel the recurring payment on your PayPal account.
— Failed Payments
If a payment fails your subscription will be paused until the next payment is processed successfully. You may need to contact PayPal to sort this out.
— Refunds & Returns
We only accept returns when the plant and/or pot is damaged.
Please let us know ASAP if something isn't right and we can either give you a refund for that month, or send out a replacement.
We are the ‘controller’ of personal data we have collected about you as set out below. This includes personal data we use process orders.
— Information We Collect & How We Collect It
The information we gather on our site falls into two categories:
(1) personal data you supply when you place an order (including Plant Mail Club subscriptions), subscribe to our newsletter or become a member of the blog & discussion forum.
(2) tracking information and meta-data collected as you navigate through root-houseplants.com (‘Website’).
When you make a purchase, subscribe to our marketing messages or become a registered user, we collect personal data about you such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, user name and password. We may ask you for personal data when you place an order for products, subscribe to our mailing list or become a member of Plant Mail Club subscription (See Plant Mail Club terms & conditions). We use this information to process your order, respond to your request or to help improve our site.
When this type of personal data is collected, you will know because you will have to fill out a form of some sort or otherwise provide the personal data to us, for example in email or messages about your order.
When you use our site, we will collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and pages visited on the site. None of this information identifies you personally; we collect it for aggregate reporting on site activity.
Our analytics platform is Google Analytics.
— How We Use Your Personal Data
We only use your data to;
(1) Fulfil orders you've made through our online shop. This includes passing data onto Our Providers for delivery purposes.
(2) Send you our email newsletter if you have explicitly subscribed.
(3) Fulfil our Plant Mail Club subscription service.
(4) Improve our website. We do this by looking at anonymous data collected by Google Analytics.
(5) Advertise to website visitors through Facebook by using Custom Audiences. If you do not wish to receive this form of advertisement please change your Facebook privacy here.
In practice that means we won't sell it onto anyone or sign you up for marketing without explicit consent.
— Our Providers
Wix.com (Wix) — Wix host our website on their servers (some are outside the European Economic Area), they provide the e-commerce platform we use to receive and fulfil online orders as well as the software we use to handle newsletter subscriptions. Wix store and process your personal data securely.
Google — We use Google Analytics to record anonymous website traffic data so we can improve our website & marketing. This data is accessed by other authorised providers who aren't employed by Root Houseplants. For example, our web designer.
Facebook - We use the Facebook Pixel to record anonymous website visitor data and retarget website visitors through advertising. If you do not wish to be receive this form of advertising, please change your Facebook settings.
DHL — We use DHL to ship orders to you. Because of this we will pass them some of your personal information. We will only ever pass on data that is necessary to complete the order, such as your name, phone number and delivery address.
Royal Mail — We use Royal Mail to ship orders to you. Because of this we will pass them some of your personal information. We will only ever pass on data that is necessary to complete the order, such as your name, phone number and delivery address.
There are some other providers we work with but they don't see any of your personal data.
— How & Where We Store Your Personal Data
Where you provide us with data online it is stored securely through Wix.com (Wix). Wix is our content management system and e-commerce platform. We take the security of your personal data very seriously. In particular we, and them, ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect your personal data.
We maintain industry-wide best practices for storing and transmitting your personal data (Such as HTTPS). Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and so we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through the internet including through the Website; any transmission is at your own risk.
Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Where you provide us with data in-store at our physical shop we will record this securely on our own systems and safely destroy any data we no longer need. Only authorised staff will have access.

You also have the right to ask us to remove or correct any of that personal data that is inaccurate, to object to certain processing and to withdraw any consent you may have given us for any processing of your personal data. Our communications are designed to tell you about the benefits we can offer so that you have access to our best deals. Under the Data Protection Legislation, this might qualify as profiling and you have the right to object to this.
